Fasting month

Bismillahirahmaniraheem,

We are currently in the month of Ramadhan, a month where muslims have to fast everyday from sunrise to sunset for a month. Fasting gives us the benefit to learn self restraint meaning if one can control hunger one can control almost all one's desires. It also enhances spiritual awareness. The medical benefits are increases absorption capacity of intestines and lowers the cholestrol.

Al Quran chapter 2 verse 183-184 :- Believers! Fasting is enjoined upon you, as it was enjoined upon those before you, that you become God-fearing. Fasting is for a fixed number of days, and if one of you be sick, or if one of you be on a journey, you will fast the same number of other days later on. For those who are capable of fasting(but still do not fast) there is redemption: feeding a needy man for each day missed. Whoever voluntarily does more good than is required, will find it better for him; and that you should fast is better for you, if only you know.

Bible Matthew chapter 17 verse 20-21(KJV): - (20) and Jesus say unto them," Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, ' Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. (21) Howbeith this kind goeth not out by prayer and fasting.

Bible Mark chapter 9 verse 28-29(KJV): (28) and when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast the devil out? (29) and he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

To those of you who are fasting, may God Almighty bless you all.
